Everybody help somebody today.

The housemates must have breathed easy when Kuya announced that the Big Goal Concert had been moved. Slated next week instead, the first live concert of the teens is actually a fund-raiser for the Philippine delegation to the Homeless World Cup to be held at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Transportation for the group of street kids and out-of-school youth would cost Php 851,000 already, and if the show would want to draw those willing investors in, then they really have to prepare something worth watching.

Something to watch out for is Ryan and Jenny’s interpretative dance of B.o.B’s “Nothing on You”. Fretzie was chosen to help them figure out modern ballet dance moves to give meaning to the song. The rest of the housemates were tickled pink just thinking of the pair onstage, Jenny in a tutu and Ryan in tights and ballet shoes.

Their talent coaches swung by to help them out some more. Micky Perz, ex-housemate and dancer, showed them some pop and lockin’ moves. The group practiced “I’ll Be There For You”, the theme-song of top-rating “Friends”. Teacher Sweet listened to Bret’s original compositions to help pick out the best for the show. Bret shared that he had just been writing for a year, and fortunately, his songs seem to be improving as he went along. His first ten songs went straight to the trash can, but of course, that was part of the learning. “My Best Friend” was one of his songs, which talked about love blooming from friendship.

How apt was that, given his growing feelings with Fretzie? “If a simple melody can make you mine…” went his new composition, inspired by Fretzie. Teacher Sweet commented, “If you choose that song, you’ll make a lot of girls scream.” With Bret’s stage presence and natural charisma, there’s no doubt about that. When it came to Fretzie, though, it was Bret who turned to mush. In the Confession Room, Kuya noticed a smiley face drawn on Bret’s hand. “Fretzie drew it there. She said don’t wash it off, and when I’m sleeping I can put it next to my face.”

Another person dear to Bret was James, whom he already claims as his best friend. The two must have their wavelengths so in tune with each other that they came up with another original song just by hanging out by the pool. James, who also played the guitar, wanted to make a happy song. Keeping the goal in mind – helping out the soccer players – inspired them to develop their song: “Everybody help somebody today…”

How exactly can everyone lend a hand in sending these worthy out-of-school youth and street children to Brazil? The easiest way is to avail the Big Goal Package, which already includes a limited edition PBB t-shirt signed by all the housemates, limited edition pictures with personal dedications, and a DVD of the Big Goal Concert, all for just P500!

Another way to help out is to avail of the 10 Golden Seats. Worth P10,000, each Golden Seat entitles you to VIP treatment as you watch the concert live, inside the PBB house! You also get golden memorabilia and the Big Goal Package! All proceeds go to funding the Philippine Team to the Homeless World Cup in September. To reserve, call 415-2272 local 6367 from Saturday to Wednesday and look for Khristian Barcelon.

Let’s all do our share in giving hope to our fellow Pinoys!

Nobody goes home tonight!

There may only be three weeks to go until the Teen Big Night but Big Brother has still more surprises left to uncover for his teen housemates! First up, he updated them about the progress of their package and Golden ticket sellout for their charity to the Philippine Soccer Team who’s aiming to attend the Homeless World Cup in September. The teen housemates’ happiness couldn’t be painted upon hearing that 375 packages - out of 500 - and four Golden tickets (equivalent to P10,000 each) - out of 10 - were already sold! But Big Brother believed there was still more room for celebration because next to that, he announced that nobody was going to leave his house tonight, therefore postponing the roster of nominees for eviction until next week! Oh, at least all of them are still going to be around to perform in their Big Goal Concert!
